Description
Our Using Illustrations for Key Ideas lesson plan teaches students how to use illustrations to more effectively communicate key ideas. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to read a given passage and draw a variety of pictures to help someone better understand the passage. Students are also asked to read given text and match it with the best illustration description, demonstrating their understanding of the best illustrations for various kinds of text.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the illustrations and details in a nonfiction text to describe its key ideas.
