Our Types of Books lesson plan explores the differences between fiction and non-fiction. During this lesson, students are asked to participate in an activity in which the teacher reads a passage from a book and the student has to guess if it is fiction or non-fiction and what genre it is to test their ability to identify the difference between fiction and non-fiction and between genres. Students are also asked to tell whether sentences are fiction or non-fiction for more practice identifying them.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define fiction/non-fiction and identify differences between the two types of books and give examples of genres.
