Description
Our What are Tens? lesson plan introduces students to the tens place value. Examples with visuals are provided so students understand how to write a two-digit number and put the correct value in the tens place. During this lesson, students are asked to complete a fun, interactive activity in which they stack Legos in groups of ten to reach a given number, helping them visualize tens. Students are also asked to count out and circle groups on ten and write the number of tens and ones down to show that they understand the lesson.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand that a group of ten ones creates a ten rod.
