Description
Our Writing Instructions lesson plan teaches students the basics of being able to give clear instructions. Academic and workplace communication depends on the ability to clearly and sequentially provide information and teach others how to reach the desired objective, or explain how an objective was reached. During this lesson, students are asked to first follow a set of written directions to draw the same picture as their teacher and demonstrate why clear instructions matter to get the desired result. Students are also asked to use their creative thinking and writing skills to create their own set of instructions.
At the end of the lesson, students will have learned the purpose of writing clear instructions for others to follow and will have written clear how-to instructions of their own. Student will perform a set of written procedures created by another peer.
