Description
Our Logical Connections/Sentences and Paragraphs lesson plan teaches students strategies for identifying and describing the logical connections between sentences and paragraphs in a piece of writing. During this lesson, students are asked to connect given phrases (i.e., “THIRD, I WENT TO SCHOOL” and “AS A RESULT OF THE HURRICANE”) using the correct connections and write the final statements. Students are also asked to tell whether given sentences are related to cause/effect, comparison, or sequence, demonstrating that they can identify each.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to describe the logical connection between particular sentences and paragraphs in a text (e.g., comparison, cause/effect, first/ second/third in a sequence).
