Fun Resources

I work with Intellectually Impaired jr. high students and it can be difficult to find age appropriate materials. The resources provided visuals that my students enjoyed and their work was placed on our wall of pride.

Our Canada and Mexico lesson plan teaches students some information about Canada and Mexico. Students learn to identify both countries on a map and to identify some information about both countries.

Description

Our Canada and Mexico lesson plan introduces the students our neighbors to the North and South of the United States. Many students may be familiar with the countries, but not realize or understand their proximity to the U.S. During this lesson, students are asked to construct a paper map of Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. in order to demonstrate their understanding of the geography of North America. Students are also asked to differentiate facts about Canada from facts about Mexico.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to locate Canada and Mexico on a map, and correctly identify and match information related to each country.
