Description
Our Story Themes lesson plan teaches students strategies for identifying themes in literature and other media. Student ability to identify theme relies on them being able to piece information together including inference, explicit text events, and identifying the author’s purpose and meaning. During this lesson, students are asked to read both provided texts and texts they choose themselves and identify the theme, using guided questions to help them.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the difference between main idea and theme.
