Narrator/Speaker’s Influence

$1.95

Our Narrator/Speaker’s Influence lesson plan teaches students about how the narrator and the narrator’s point of view can influence a text and the way events in a text are described. Students practice writing about events from the point of view of different narrators.

Description

Our Narrator/Speaker’s Influence lesson plan is focused on how different points of view influence a reader’s perspective of events in a book or story. Students can usually identify the point of view, whether it is 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person; however, they often do not understand the influence it may have on readers. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively to create a paragraph based on given descriptions in which the students have to put themselves in the shoes of different narrators, utilizing their creative writing and critical thinking skills. Students are also asked to match vocabulary to its definition in order to demonstrate their understanding.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to describe how a narrator’s or speaker’s point of view influences how events are described.
