Description
Our Inferences – Nonfiction – Grade 5 lesson plan teaches students strategies for making inferences from nonfiction writing. During this lesson, students are asked to read an article and then answer questions about what inferences they can make from the text, demonstrating their ability to make accurate inferences from what they read. Students are also asked to read a story and determine every time the author infers something without including evidence to support that inference.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to read closely to determine what the text says explicitly, make inferences from the text, and be able to draw logical conclusions.
