Description
Our Event Relationships lesson plan teaches students how to identify and describe a series of events, concepts, or steps. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to practice writing and then following a series of instructions concisely and in the correct order. Students are also asked to read given statements, underline and write “cause” under the cause, and underline and write “effect” under the effect in order to demonstrate their understanding of cause and effect.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to describe the relationship between a series of historical events, scientific ideas/concepts, or steps in technical procedures in a text with regard to time, sequence, and cause/effect. Students will also be able to recognize how an author organizes informational text in specific structures of chronology, sequence, and cause/effect.
