Beginning sounds

I am teaching illiterate adults to read and these worksheets are very helpful because they are simple. They also are helpful for developing vocabulary since my students speak little English.

Description

Our Beginning Sounds lesson plan teaches students how to accurately match the beginning letters and sounds of words. During this lesson, students are asked to match written words with their correct beginning sound (s, m, or t). Students are also asked to learn vocabulary that have common beginning sounds.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to match letters and sounds at the beginning of a word and will be able to recognize similar beginning consonant sounds and the letters that represent them (e.g. fox, fit).
