Description
Our Estimating Lengths lesson plan teaches students the basics of estimating for length using different units of measurement. The difference between length, height, and distance are also discussed. Students are asked to complete a fun, interactive activity in which they estimate how far a ball they are going to roll with go, and then compare the actual length with the estimated length. Students are also asked to estimate lengths of common items, such as an ant and a chair.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to estimate lengths using inches, feet, centimeters, and meters.
