Description
Our Summarizing Written Text and More lesson plan teaches students strategies for effectively summarizing both written text and other forms of media. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to watch a video, answer questions about it, and then use their answers to those questions to write a summary of the video. Students are also asked to work on their own to summarize speeches, advertisements, and more as practice.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to summarize a written text read aloud or information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally.
