Description
Our Story Structure lesson plan improves the reading comprehension, writing and critical thinking skills of young students by identifying the three basic parts of a story and preparing students to use the different parts to write their own short story. Students are asked to write a story with a partner, giving them practice for later writing their own short story, which they will brainstorm, outline, and write on their own. Students are also asked to identify whether given sentences are from the beginning, middle, or end of a story to test their understanding of story structure.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the three basic parts of a story, use the different parts to write a short story.
