Description

Our Responding to Questions/Adding Details lesson plan teaches students how to use feedback from peers and additional details to strengthen their writing. During this lesson, students are asked to complete an activity in which they read a provided paragraph, identify the sentence that does not belong, and then tell why the sentence does not belong. Students are also asked to write a story about a time they were happy, have a parent read it and write suggestions and questions that would make the story better, and then rewrite their story using those suggestions.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to focus on a topic, respond to questions and suggestions from peers, and add details to strengthen writing as needed.

I was extremely impressed with this lesson on writing details in paragraphs. It was clear, organized and concise. Perfect for middle school students.
