Description
Our Reading Orally lesson plan helps make students more comfortable with reading aloud in front of other people, as some students struggle with nervousness, tripping over words, and not emoting during their reading. During this lesson, students are asked to work in pairs to write two lines of poetry matching each of a list of emotions, practice reading the lines orally to each other, and express the emotions as they read them aloud to the class. Students are also asked to identify the most likely emotion that would be expressed for each of a list of provided sentences.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to read grade-level prose and poetry orally with accuracy, appropriate rate, and expression on successive readings.
