Our Introducing Informative Topics lesson plan teaches students how to write better introductions for informative pieces of writing. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to write informative introductory paragraphs for various topics, making sure to include a hook or attention grabber, transition sentences, and topic sentences in each. Students are also asked to read example informative essay introductions and write how each could be more effective.Â
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to introduce a topic and group related information together; include illustrations when useful to aiding comprehension.
