Description
Our Acquire/Use Grade-Level Words/Phrases lesson plan teaches students how to choose appropriate words, whether general or academic. During this lesson, students are asked to rewrite a paragraph, replacing common and general words with topic and subject-specific words. Students are also asked to review lists of subject-specific words and decide which in the list does not belong.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to acquire and use accurately grade-appropriate general academic and domain-specific words and phrases, including those that signal contrast, addition, and other logical relationships.
