Description
Our Common Greek/Latin Affixes and Roots lesson plan teaches students about some common Greek and Latin affixes and roots and their meanings. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to create a poster that helps a viewer learn the meanings of 5 roots/affixes assigned to them by the teacher; they include drawings, images from the Internet, and examples of words that contain the roots/affixes they are assigned. Students are also asked to read words in context and use the roots/affixes to help define them.Â
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to use common, grade-appropriate Greek and Latin affixes and roots as clues to the meaning of a word.
