With our Developing an Informative Topic lesson plan, students learn how to develop and write an informative topic, complete with facts, definitions, and details.

Description

Our Developing an Informative Topic lesson plan teaches students how to improve their writing by developing informative topics with facts and details. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner and choose a nonfiction topic; they then do research on that topic and go through each step to write an informative essay about that topic, complete with an introduction that includes a hook, transition, and topic sentences, the body of the essay, and a conclusion. Students are also asked to read an essay introduction and the development of the topic and then tell what is wrong with the development, with specific examples.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to develop an informative topic with facts, definitions, and details.
