Description
Our Short /a/ Words with Pictures lesson plan teaches students about words with short /a/ patterns and how to recognize them. During this lesson, students are asked to practice reading words that have a short /a/ sound by first sounding them and then reading the whole word. Students are also asked to sort words with short /a/ sounds into “-ag,” “-ap,” and “-at” categories.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to notice parts, or patterns, in words and will be able to use the short /a/ pattern to help them read a word.
