Description
Our Discussion Preparation lesson plan teaches students strategies for effectively preparing for discussions or debates. During this lesson, students are asked to practice preparing for a debate, going through each step one by one to prepare and then having a mock debate with a classmate. Students are also asked to practice researching given topics and writing one argument for or against the position, demonstrating the research abilities crucial to a successful debate.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to demonstrate the appropriate techniques when having a discussion or debate, understand the importance of being prepared with facts before initiating a discussion or debate, and recall and utilize facts in discussions and debates.
