Description
Our Concluding Statements for Opinions lesson plan teaches students strategies for writing effective conclusions for opinion writing. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to read and discuss provided topics, write an introductory paragraph stating a shared opinion using one of the topics, then write a supporting paragraph and an effective conclusion paragraph. Students are also asked to rewrite sentences that state opinions using their own words.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to provide a concluding statement or section related to the opinion presented. The students will also be able to write an effective opinion essay beginning with the introduction to the conclusion.
