Description
Our Short /o/ Words with Pictures lesson plan teaches students how to recognize certain phonetic patterns in words and spelling in order to help them read more effectively. During this lesson, students are asked to sound out each letter in a given word, say the whole word together, and then cut and paste a matching picture. Students are also asked to sort words with short /o/ sounds by their endings to practice recognizing patterns in words.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to notice parts, or patterns, in words and will be able to use the short /o/ pattern to help read a word.
