Description
Our Morals, Messages, and Lessons lesson plan introduces young students to the messages, lessons, or morals of a story, and how to identify them. Students listen to or read many stories but may often miss the moral or message being conveyed by the story. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively, with a partner, to create a short story using one of a number of given morals, messages, or lessons, utilizing their creative writing skills. Students are also asked to match short stories with their morals and match lesson vocabulary with its definition, testing their understanding of the lesson.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the central message, moral, or lesson of a story or other piece of writing. The students will be able to write a short story with a message.
