Description
Our Reading Connections lesson plan helps students connect the text they read to other text, themselves, or to the world. They will use the connections to help them understand cause and effect, historical events, and relationships between two individuals, events, ideas, or pieces of information in a text. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to complete an activity in which they read provided passages, discuss connections to other texts, themselves, and the world, and answer questions about the passage, letting students find connections with each other and the things they read. Students are also asked to read provided sentences and tell if each statement is connected to a person’s Self, to Text, or to the World.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and use the relationships between text to other text, themselves, and to the world.
