So well organized and incredibly helpful

My kids were able to follow content we were unable to cover in class. Being at a Title 1 school, many kids are typically below grade level and many are multiple grade levels behind. The tools on this site have allowed me to provide them with instructive activities that are simply put. Their scores have already improved 20% on average and a large portion is due to the help of Clarendon Learning. I also am unpaid for the summer school I am teaching at right now, so the options of reviews or donations is soooo helpful as I do not have an income that can sustain heavy fees. Thank you Clarendon!

In our Word Problems, Multi-Step lesson plan, students will learn strategies to solve multi-solve word problems. They will practice using the steps given to solve problems and will be asked to consider the real-world situations in which they will use these skills.

Description

Our Word Problems, Multi-Step lesson plan focuses on organizing word problems into their various parts and determining the operations needed to solve each part so students are not overwhelmed by the complexity of the problems. Several examples are provided for the teacher to do along with the students, including problems with real-world applications like figuring out how to split up a bill at the end of a dinner out. Students are asked to use their creativity and collaboration skills in order to first brainstorm the places they use math every day and then create a short play in which a character has to solve multistep word problems to resolve a conflict; their presentation skills are put to use when they present it to the class. Students are also asked to individually complete practice problems in order to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to solve word problems with multiple steps utilizing the four basic operations.
