Our Spanish-American War lesson plan explores the events and reasoning that led to the Spanish-American War, the main events and people of the war, and the results and impact of the war across the world. During this lesson, students are asked to shade and label Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, Philippine Islands on a paper map, labeling the different bodies of water and each of the continents on both maps, which demonstrates their understanding of the lesson geography. Students are also asked to fill in the blanks in a given paragraph with lesson vocabulary.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the reasons for the Spanish-American War, the main events and people of the war, and the results and impact of the war.
