Description
Our Native American Pow Wows lesson plan introduces students to Native American Pow Wows, their origins, and other interesting and relevant information about the ceremonies and dances. Many people misunderstand the history of the Pow Wow and there is often misinformation or myths about the dances. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to design a poster advertising an upcoming Native American Pow Wow, including factual information from the lesson and utilizing their creativity to come up with an appealing design. Students are also asked to answer multiple choice questions about the lesson material.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define Pow Wow, identify their origins, and explain the meanings of Native American Pow Wow and dances.
