Our Vaccines lesson plan introduces students to the use of vaccines for a wide variety of diseases and reviews the immune system. It discusses how they work, the benefits of vaccines, and the different immunizations available for people of all ages. During this lesson, students are asked to use their creativity to work with a partner to create a vaccine poster, which includes images, facts and figures, slogans, and more, to urge people to get vaccinated; they then present their finished poster to the class, strengthening their public speaking and presentation skills. Students are also asked to fill in the blanks in a given paragraph with lesson vocabulary words, demonstrating their understanding of the relevant terms and definitions.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define vaccines, explain how they work, and identify the vaccines used for immunizations.
