Time Zones

Our Time Zones lesson plan teaches students about both worldwide and United States-specific time zones. Students learn why time zones exist, what the time zones in the U.S. are, and how to convert between time zones.

Our Time Zones lesson plan introduces students to time zones across the world, with a focus on U.S. time zones. This interactive lesson not only identifies the various time zones but also presents the reasons for their use in the United States. During this lesson, students are asked to attach clock hands to clocks according to their time zones in order to demonstrate that they understand the relationships between U.S. time zones. Students are also asked to answer questions based on a given map and the lesson material.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and give reasons for the time zones of the United States and become aware of time zones across the world.

    Absolutely satisfied!

I have not yet had a chance to use the curriculum as my son won’t be ready for first grade until next year but I have had a chance to open the PDFs and look them over. I’m really excited to get started and I love how everything is put together. We have two boys on the autism spectrum and I was happy to see the section for autism students. We don’t have a lot of money and being able to have an entire curriculum for first grade for only a review is truly something I can’t say thank you enough for! You are amazing and thank you for all you do. I will be revisiting the website again in the future!
