Our Light lesson plan introduces students to light and light energy including related terms. During this lesson, students are asked to complete a number of science experiments related to light and answer questions about them in order to broaden their understanding in a fun and interactive way. Students are also asked to search their home or neighborhood (with permission) and identify two examples of reflection, refraction, and blocked light and explain how they can tell which is which.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define and list the characteristics of light.

Exactly what I was looking for

I was so pleased to find Clarendon's unit on light. Their introductory video was exactly what I was looking for. It introduced what light is and does in a way my six year old could understand.
