$0.00

In this lesson, students will learn that time is not the same for everyone worldwide or even in the United States. They will discover the origins of daylight saving time, why people practice it, and who does not. They will also learn to adjust the clocks, and as a group, the class will take a poll on its practice to see if springing forward and falling backward should continue.

Description

Time changes everything. It changes the seasons, the tides, and our moods. But have you ever stopped to think about how time itself changes? Just like the daylight hours get shorter in winter and longer in summer, the time we keep on our clocks also adjusts slightly twice a year. This is because of daylight saving time (DST). Students will learn all about the origin of this practice and discover that some places choose not to use it, such as Arizona and Hawaii.
