Our Using Information to Solve a Problem lesson plan teaches students how to identify pertinent information and use it to solve specific problems. During this lesson, students are asked to read an article and answer questions based on both the text and an accompanying graph. Students are also asked to read short passages and answer true or false questions about them, demonstrating their ability to identify relevant information in text.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to individually and cooperatively evaluate and solve problems. Students will have also learned and practiced reading and thinking strategies in relation to text and real-world problems.
