Our Order Events in a Story lesson plan teaches students strategies for putting the events of a story in order as well as relevant lesson vocabulary. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a group to read a story and then create a tableau for a specific portion of the story as assigned by their teacher. Students are also asked to write a summary of a story they’ve read using specific transitions and order words to show the correct sequence of events, such as “next,” “then,” and “finally”.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to order events in a story chronologically.
