MYTHOLOGY: NIKE LESSON PLAN CONTENT PAGES

The Mythology: Nike lesson plan contains two content pages. In this myth, Nike, the winged goddess of victory, longs to explore the world beyond Mount Olympus despite her divine responsibilities. Seeking help from Hephaestus, the god of blacksmithing, she receives a magical pair of golden-winged sandals that allow her to travel swiftly across the earth without neglecting her duties. With wonder and joy, Nike embarks on a breathtaking journey—playing with children, racing animals, and climbing mountains—experiencing the freedom she had always dreamed of. Eventually, homesickness draws her back to Olympus, but she returns fulfilled, her heart forever touched by the beauty and adventure of the world below.

MYTHOLOGY: NIKE LESSON PLAN WORKSHEETS

The Mythology: Nike lesson plan includes two worksheets: an activity worksheet and a practice worksheet. Each one will help students solidify their grasp of the material they learned throughout the lesson. You can refer to the classroom procedure guidelines to know when to hand out each worksheet.

SHOE DESIGN ACTIVITY WORKSHEET

Hephaestus created a pair of sandals for Nike that took her on a great adventure. For this activity, students will design a pair of shoes that will take them on an adventure of their own! They will draw the design in the box and then answer the question at the bottom of the worksheet.

MYTHOLOGY: NIKE PRACTICE WORKSHEET

The practice worksheet requires students to answer a series of 10 questions. These questions all relate to the content pages, so students will need to refer to them often for the answers. In addition, each question provides which reading tool the question corresponds to, such as text feature, vocabulary, or comprehension.

Worksheet Answer Keys

At the end of the lesson plan document is an answer key for the practice worksheet. The correct answers are all in red to make it easier for you to compare them with students’ responses. If you choose to administer the lesson pages to your students via PDF, you will need to save a new file that omits these pages. Otherwise, you can simply print out the applicable pages and keep these as reference for yourself when grading assignments.
