Description

Our Interpreting and Using Flashback lesson plan teaches students strategies for identifying and interpreting flashbacks in writing as well as how to incorporate them in their own writing. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to rewrite a fable to include a flashback. Students are also asked to read excerpts of writing and identify where flashbacks begin in each, also identifying the type of flashback the author is using.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and interpret an author’s use of flashback as used in stories and other text and give examples of flashback and its meaning.
