Description

Our Inferences – Nonfiction – Grade 6 lesson plan teaches students how to make inferences based on textual evidence. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with another student to read a passage and make inferences with evidence, recording each inference in a chart. Students are also asked to read short passages on their own and make inferences, demonstrating their understanding of the lesson material.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
