Our Compare/Contrast Adventures, Events lesson plan teaches students strategies for comparing and contrasting characters and events in stories. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to listen to their teacher read a story aloud and then fill out a chart comparing and contrasting the characters in detail. Students are also asked to read sentences and determine whether they are comparing or contrasting, demonstrating their understanding of the difference between the two terms.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to compare and contrast the adventures and experiences of characters in familiar stories.
