Character Types

Our Character Types lesson plan teaches students about some common types of characters that can be found in literature. Students learn why it’s important to be able to recognize these character types and about the characteristics that various types have.

Our Character Types lesson plan introduces students to the different types of characters found in most stories or novels. As students read, they will encounter different characters and should be able to recognize how each character type affects the outcome of the story. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively and use their creative writing skills to write a story with a partner using at least five different character types. Students are also asked to individually match character traits with the correct character type in order to demonstrate their understanding.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to define and identify the major character types found in literature pieces, short stories, and novels.

    Excellent site

This is a very good site and I was able to print out daily curriculum for my daughter that has autism. Easy to follow instructions make it easy for me to clearly help my daughter with her school lesson for the day.
