Description
Evaluating the evidence an author presents to support their point of view is a vital reading comprehension skill. In this lesson, students will learn how to identify and analyze the reasons and evidence an author uses in order to better understand the writer’s position. They will also practice determining if the evidence is credible and accurate, and whether it is sufficient to sway readers to the author’s point of view. By the end of the lesson, students will be better equipped to critically read and engage with informational texts.
