Write Variable Expressions

In our Write Variable Expressions lesson plan, students learn how to properly write verbal expressions as algebraic expressions. Students learn relevant vocabulary and practice rewriting expressions.


Our Write Variable Expressions lesson plan teaches students strategies for writing variable expressions, including how to write the word forms as numbers and symbols. During this lesson, students are asked to practice writing the numerical expressions and verbal expressions for given math phrases. Students are also asked to come up with additional math vocabulary that could be translated into words but were not covered in this lesson.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to write verbal expressions as algebraic expressions using operations and variables.
