Our Word Problems and Division lesson plan provides students with strategies for solving word problems that require division. Several strategies are included such as drawing diagrams, looking for patterns, and making graphs. A list of words students can use to discover whether or not the problem requires division is included as well. Students are asked to work collaboratively on an activity in which they solve word problems and draw pictures to go along with each problem, utilizing their creativity. Students are also asked to individually complete practice problems in order to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to solve word problems using division.
