Description
Our interactive Subtraction with Regrouping lesson plan introduces students to regrouping strategies for subtraction. Combined with practice and additional resource to enhance understanding, students will define and understand what it means to regroup when subtracting. Students are asked to complete the “Find Someone Who Can Regroup” activity, which employs interactive peer learning as students create a problem, have a classmate solve the problem, then check the solution for accuracy. Students are also asked to individually complete practice problems in order to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to subtract using regrouping strategies.
