Mental Math

In our Mental Math lesson plan, students learn strategies for doing mental math more effectively. Students practice using different methods outlined in this lesson in order to do mental math faster and more easily.

Our Mental Math lesson plan introduces various strategies to guide students through the process of solving math calculations and performing math reasoning in their mind. The strategies presented are reinforced with opportunities for students to develop confidence in their accuracy by practicing problems with and without using mental math strategies, as well as a group discussion on how they used a particular strategy. During this lesson, students are asked to complete practice problems using different strategies in order to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to compute mathematical problems in their head using various strategies.

    Clarendon is the best!!

I am always looking for some materials to help me homeschool my kids, especially on days when I am not sure how to present the topic in a way that would grab their interest in learning that topic. Thanks to your ready-made resources, you made this possible and best of all, it is free!!! Thanks for helping moms like me. I wish you all the best in the future, Clarendon.

    Excellent resources. Highly recommend!

The lesson plans and resources are excellent and well thought out. Highly recommend using it. I downloaded the exercises for free but after seeing the variety and quality, I couldn't not donate and made a nominal contribution. Thank you, Clarendon, for helping our children!

    Atomic Bomb

We loved the packet for the Atomic Bomb. It gave great links to learn more, it wasn't too easy for my 8th grader with learning disabilities. We enjoyed learning it together. We're excited to try another packet.
