Description
Our Inequalities lesson plan begins by defining an inequality and reminds students that they solve inequalities just like equations. Then the lesson discusses the two ways inequalities are different from equations. First, they use different symbols and second, solving an inequality means finding all of its solutions. New symbols and graphing inequalities are also covered in this lesson. Students are asked to answer practice problems in which they identify whether numbers are answers to a given inequality. Students are also asked to both write and graph inequalities based on word problems.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to solve inequalities.
