Description
Our Coordinate Planes & Real-World Problems lesson plan teaches students about using coordinate planes in real-world scenarios. During this lesson, students are asked to choose a city and create a map for tourists, find 5 locations in that city that would be of interest to a traveler and use the coordinate plane to create a map of interest; they then calculate the distance between each point of interest. Students are also asked to practice graphing specific points on coordinate planes.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to solve real-world and mathematical problems by graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane and using the distance between the points.
