Compose 2D and 3D Shapes

With our Compose 2D and 3D Shapes lesson plan, students learn how to identify and compose various 2D and 3D shapes. Students practice working with these shapes in order to solidify their understanding of the lesson material.

Our Compose 2D and 3D Shapes lesson plan teaches students how to compose both 2D and 3D shapes for mathematics. During this lesson, students are asked to turn existing shapes into other shapes in both 2D and 3D and practice identifying various 2D and 3D shapes. Students also practice identifying which individual shapes need to be combined to create another shape, provided by the teacher.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to compose two- dimensional or three-dimensional shapes to create a composite shape and compose new shapes from the composite shape.

I really enjoyed this lesson. The project of cutting out and bringing the 3d shapes to life and creating a town is really effective.

    Excellent material, easy to use

Due to the lockdown for Coronavirus, it’s difficult to find resources for parents that are forced to homeschooling kids, there are no too many free quality resources around. I will never forget that Clarendon learning give this free material and that I found it when I needed the most! Kudos Clarendon ❤️
