Angles and Degrees


In our Angles and Degrees lesson plan, students learn about how to measure an angle in degrees. Students learn that there are 360 degrees in a circle and complete practice problems that deal with these concepts in order to solidify their understanding of the lesson material.

Our Angles and Degrees lesson plan discusses how to measure an angle in degrees. The lesson illustrates the size of one degree and explains why there are 360 degrees in a circle. It also demonstrates with illustrations how to use a protractor to measure an angle. Students are asked to find various angles using a protractor and complete a fun and interactive activity in which they measure angles using paper plates. Students are also asked to demonstrate their understanding by completing practice problems.

Students will be able to understand that an angle that turns through n one-degree angles is said to have an angle measure of n degrees.
