Our Addition Input/Output Tables lesson plan presents input/output tables as a way to show the relationship between two numbers. Input, output, and rules are defined at the beginning of the lesson. The lesson emphasizes finding a rule that works with every value that is part of the table and includes examples. During the lesson, students are asked to match rules with the correct input/output table, demonstrating their understanding of the rules and how they’re used. Students are also asked to find the rules for given input/output tables and then finish filling the tables in.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to create, solve missing values, and generate rules for input/output tables using addition.
